About Civil War Ranch

Family is an important part of our lives and finding a place that our family could love and that we could share with others has been a dream of ours since we were married. We purchased the Civil War Arena and surrounding 78 acres in 2012.

We discovered the beautiful historic, although previously neglected, barns on the property that seemed to shout, “give me life!" After encouragement from family and friends whose weddings Chris had helped to coordinate over many years, we decided to revitalize the 120-year-old barns.

We started inviting couples to enjoy the beautiful surroundings as a backdrop to the beginning of their histories together. Nine years later we have hosted 350+ weddings and have enjoyed expanding our circle of friends. Our friends have become our chosen family and they have enriched our lives. 

We are a family and staff that sincerely want to help you have the Best Day Possible and who consistently earn glowing reviews for that extra effort that makes the difference.

A Little History of Civil War Ranch

Many guests ask us “Why the name Civil War Ranch”? 

The answer is

1. It is a ranch on Civil War Road.
2. The arena already existed and was named Civil War Arena.  It was a name that was well known in the area and we decided it was worth hanging on to. 

One of the earliest land battles of the Civil War was fought in Carthage Missouri and several skirmishes were fought along the road into Carthage.
